Schedule: School-Based | Daytime Hours
Pay: 20-25/hr

At Care Options for Kids, our school-based Instructional Aides play a critical role in helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. This role is designed for individuals who value structure, teamwork, and the opportunity to make a daily impact in a school setting.

Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines;
- Providing direct support to students with special needs;
- Collaborating with special education teachers and other staff;
- Discusses curriculum area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
- Assisting the teacher in the preparation of instructional materials.
- Assisting students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Assisting students with the use of audio-visual materials, equipment and computers.
- Monitoring student lunches, recess times, fire drills, field trips, bus duty, and hall duty.
- Outside duties: parking lot, fields, driveway, as per administration’s need
- Lavatory coverage in the high school.

Requirements
- MUST HAVE a passing score on state recognized paraprofessional assessment
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of special education practices and willingness to learn and apply new strategies.
- Proficient in the use of multi-media and computer technology to support learning.

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto liability insurance

High School Diploma or GED required

Associate’s Degree or higher preferred
