Licensed Practical Nurse
Position Summary:
The School-Based LPN provides one on one health services to a student, assisting with medical needs, chronic condition management, and emergency care while promoting a healthy school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide basic first aid and emergency care to students and staff.
- Ability to work 1:1 with a student that has intellectual disabilities and special needs.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders.
- Provide direct nursing care to the assigned student based on their Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP) and physician orders.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as needed.
- Monitor and assess the student’s health status throughout the school day.
- Assist with mobility, feeding, toileting, and other daily living activities as required.
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations.
- Educate students and staff on hygiene, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyles.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop care plans for students with medical needs.
- Support the Registered Nurse (RN) in managing the school health office and handling student health concerns.

Education/License/Certification:
- Completion of an Approved Practical Nursing Program
- Successful Completion of the NCLEX-PN Examination
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Alaksa.
